Hi,
I’m a French player living in Woods of Normandy and I’m interested to make you the french translation :) It’s possible to work on your source file or do you prefer a .txt with brut text ?

Amazing game and thx a lot for your work.

PEB.

Hello there!

Thank you for the interest!^^

I can send a document with only the text, the source file is in InDesign, or, you can modify directly the pdf if it's possible to not change the fonts.

Would love to add a French translation, let me know what you can do/prefer. :)

And thank you for playing!

Hi :)

Send me the text file, I’m not in my office in that period (I’m a graphist and motion design artist). So text will be okay and I leave you the layout editing :)

I will do my best to make a translation with the same word count :)

Thx a lot,
Peb.

Hello! It’s my second time trying out a TTRPG, and honestly I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to come up with anything to push the game forward like I did during my first experience.

I ended up approaching it like a point-and-click adventure game where the player has the option to inspect some of the scenes a bit closer, and I found it super fun that way! I skipped the character creation part and still ended up making them a natural Tracker during my playthrough.

I also really love that I can choose to tap out, which I did. It removed the pressure of hitting a wall during my playthrough while simultaneously bringing out the personality of a ranger who just goes, “nope. No, thank you! Peace out.”

Thank you so much for making this game! I look forward to seeing what else you might have. Cheers! :)

Hi there!

I am so glad you enjoyed the game, and happy to hear the option to just quit worked well. Playing it like a point-and-click game is such an interesting take :)

Thank you for ^^

So, this was one of the first solo TTRPGs I ever played - I wanted something small to try out, and the artwork and theme caught me.

I really enjoyed it! I ended up spending just over five hours over a couple of evenings really fleshing out the story of my character and drawing the map and my findings etc. I went the Naturalist route, and made my character a graduate student who dropped out after a lab experiment of hers went wrong, who'd come to the Veilwoods seeking answers for what happened. I'd been reading a lot of Jeff Vandermeer prior to playing this - and it lends itself really well to that sort of weird/speculative fiction vibe.

The prompts were open enough to allow you to go in multiple directions, but the dice mechanics with the stacked Status / Supernatural Activity / Fate rolls really helped keep a level of suspense and also reign you in a bit in a way I appreciated as a new player. I also enjoyed keeping track of what was in my bag/supplies and finding ways to utilise them as I went through my tasks.

I'm hoping a more expansive version is still in the works for the future, as I'd be really interested in seeing more of the Veilwoods!

I’m so honoured this was your first solo ttrpg!! I really hope it made you want to play more because there are so many interesting ones around! ^^

Thank you for sharing how you played and found the game, it’s always interesting to me to know what kind of stories and paths players choose to follow and develop.

An expanded version is definitely still in the works, unfortunately due to almost 0 free time it will take a long time, as there are multiple layers to it hahah thank you again for your comment!

Hello! I'd like to include this in a printed compendium of games, part of the Tiny Tome series. Please let me know if you're interested.

Hey! Sure, that sounds nice. You can hit me up at studiomanta.info@gmail.com if you need anything else :)

Hi!

We plan to use your game in local RPG event soon and decided to make a translation. Would you allow us to share polish version of "Veilwoods" on our (skybluekey.itch.io) page? Also, if you'd prefer to place it here, please, share email contact or write message to blekitnyklucz@gmail.com.

Hi!

Oh that's so nice to hear!

Since I had the intention of adding other translated versions I would love to add the Polish version here already! I will contact you per email^^

I used this to run one of my characters from an existing TTRPG setting through a little thing because I wanted to play them some more and it was a good time. very interested to see what the full thing looks like. Particularly I'm interested in seeing more about the consequences for how you choose to interact at the end of the day.

Thank you so much for trying my game, I'm happy to read you found it fun and enjoyed it! :) Definetly more to come (with a little patience hahah).

I believe in you! I will wait patiently and politely
